Gwen's 10 Tips For Getting Published

1) Join your local writers' guild.

2) Take a writing course (or five!).

3) Edit your manuscript (ms), leave it, then edit some more. Often, writers' guilds will have ms evaluation services. Take advantage of these types of programs.

4) Attend any and all conferences about writing.

5) Make business cards. Start a collection of others' cards.

6) Research publishers. Study websites and writer's guides.

7) Create the perfect query letter. Spend lots of time on it!

8) Let go of your ms and put it in the mailbox. This is hard to do! Have someone take a pic of you.

9) Accept all rejection letters as gifts. You're one step closer to getting published!

10) Don't give up on your ms. Review and repeat the above steps. You will find a publisher if you are persistent!
